A Cure for the Summertime Blues

By Ron

Despite the famous song title, there sure is a cure for the end of Summer blues. No matter what is going on in your life, when you do something for someone else, your problems begin to fade into the background.

Mental health professionals call this a sense of “otherness.” It’s when you have a realization that caring for others can make your own issues seem less important. Additionally, when we serve others, we have a greater feeling of self-worth, another positive in the midst of our blues.

When we serve at a motel, we see happy volunteers. They may arrive with sour expressions, but everyone leaves after the service with a lift in their step, a smile on their face, and a sense that God was with them.

Half of the congregation were kids! It was a sweet time of fellowship and it was like a family gathering to do church together. – Mone Pace

Want a lift? Got the blues? Just want to feel better about life? Serve with us! You’ll discover a family that you didn’t know you had, and a purpose for living that is positively uplifting.

Volunteers Cure the Summertime Blues

Beat the Summertime Blues

We’ve made it easy to get started serving at MotelChurch. Whether you want to volunteer with your family, friends or even your small group, we have a place for you.

To get started, just click here and pick the day you want to volunteer. That’s it. Once you sign up, we’ll contact you and give you all the info you need for your volunteer day.

Each week, God amazes us with the tremendous things he does through average people just like you. When you decide to volunteer at one of our motels you’re not only showing care, you’re creating opportunities for the Gospel to change lives.

RSVP to volunteer and see what God does through you. It may only be a couple of hours on a weekend, but it could mean everything to someone in need.
