Thanksgiving and Christmas are going to be very wonderful times in weekly, rundown motels this year.
Holidays are special anyway, aren’t they? But they can be even more special if you take a few hours to bless our less fortunate neighbors. This year, you can share in the blessings and hope that will happen in the holiday celebrations at all motels.

Here’s what’s planned:
At each MotelChurch service on the weekend before Thanksgiving, Nov 19 and 20, will be served a Thanksgiving brunch to end all Thanksgiving brunches. Roast turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, scrumptious veggies, rolls and butter, and best of all, pumpkin pie with whipped cream.
We know that most people in motels have lost contact with family and friends, and they will have no Christmas gifts to give anyone. So, at each service on Nov 19 and 20, we’ll have portrait photographers taking photos of individuals and families. 2-3 weeks later we’ll bring back ten 4×6 portrait prints and ten stamped envelopes to each individual or family so they can send their portrait as Christmas gifts.
From mid-November on, we’ll be collecting new toys and other gifts for children, that their parents can give them for Christmas. This year we’ll also have gifts that the children can pick to give to their parents. All of this will be in the Christmas Store that we will bring to each motel at services on Dec 17 and 18.
Christmas eve and Christmas fall on Saturday and Sunday this year, so we will get to celebrate these important holiday mornings with our motel family. Again, an absolutely delicious, traditional holiday brunch will be served, with ham, scalloped potatoes, veggies, roll/butter and pie with whipped cream. We’ll celebrate the Savior’s birth with warmth, love, friends, and great food.
How you can get involved:

Volunteer to serve on Nov 19, Nov 20, Dec 24 or Dec 25. You’ll be bringing smiles, friendship, and part of the wonderful brunch we serve on those mornings.
Serve with the crew to help prepare the turkeys for distribution – cook and carve.
Help us provide the turkey and hams and pies for the brunches. Volunteers will supply the rest of the brunches.
If you’re a portrait photographer and you have a good digital camera, volunteer to take portraits on the mornings of Nov 19 or Nov 20.
Want to donate new toys, gifts or financial support to ensure that every child gets a present from their parent this Christmas.
You can help collect, inventory, and prep the gifts for the Christmas Store.
Don’t miss out on the magic of this holiday season. Be a part of it and rediscover the greatest Thanksgiving blessing and Christmas gift of all.
